About me.

Dr. Gran-Popp joined Grund IP Group in 2018. Sandra is qualified as European Patent Attorney and is experienced in the drafting and prosecution (and defense) of European, German and PCT patent, trademark and design applications, opposition proceedings and appeal hearings before the European Patent Office. Her technical expertise covers inventions originating from the technical areas of biochemistry, pharmacy, immunology, virology, cellular and molecular biology, molecular imaging, biochemical techniques and diagnostics, pharmaceutical sciences and related medical devices in the mechanical arts.

 

Sandra studied biosciences and molecular Biomedicine at the University of Münster, Germany (WWU/Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster). During her undergraduate studies, she was awarded a scholarship by the German Academic Scholarship Foundation. Her Bachelor studies focused on the characterization of Na2+-channels in epithelial cells, her Master’s thesis on exploring the connection between influenza A viral infections and annexins. She performed her doctorate thesis research in Prof. Dr. Johannes Roth’s group at the Institute of Immunology in the field of immunology, in cooperation with the European Institute for Molecular Imaging developing a novel method for visualizing and characterizing phagocyte migration.
